Apple Sandwiches

 

When we brought a slew of apples home from a local farm, our oldest daughter wanted to use sliced apples to make "sandwiches" for a fun snack.  This post serves more as inspiration, rather than a recipe.  The topping choices and variations are limitless.  Round up your kiddos or a group of friends and enjoy a creative, healthy snack.

 

INGREDIENTS

organic apples, cored & thinly sliced horizontally

nut butter such as almond, cashew, or valencia peanut butter

shredded coconut

sprouted nuts or seeds such as sunflower, pumpkin, walnuts, or pecans

grain-free granola

dried fruit such as raisins, dried cranberries, or dried cherries

lily's chocolate chips
