Hand Soap
As with most products, we urge our patients to seek out non-toxic alternative to their conventional counterparts. Hand soap is no different. When you have a few simple items on hand, it is just about as quick to make as refilling a normal soap pump. This is one small change that will help reduce the toxic load upon the body.
Ingredients
a foaming soap pump*
a bottle of Branch Basics concentrate or Dr. Bronner’s unscented Castile soap
essential oils
Method
Pour the soap base of your choosing into the soap pump to about 1/5 of the bottle’s volume. Add 12-15 drops of essential oils of your choosing. Our family favorites are peppermint, orange, or douglas fir essential oils. There are several effective blends using potent antimicrobial oils including cinnamon, clove, orange, rosemary, and eucalyptus.
Fill with filtered water up to the shoulders of the bottle. Secure the lid and gently shake the bottle to incorporate the ingredients.
*Some of the soap pumps we have in our home include this one and this one.
